More lists!

  • Brooklyn is proving to be a most excellent place to live. Two data points: 1) The proximity of Union Hall and all of it’s indoor bocce goodness, and 2) the ability to sell just about anything on craigslist within 4 hours. (Goodbye G5 PowerMac, hello half-the-price-and-twice-as-fast iMac)
  • Amtrak was kind enough to extend my usual 3.5 hour trip from DC to NY by an extra three hours Thursday night, due to a malfunctioning pantograph, a broken backup pantograph, and the absence of a suitable Amtrak engineer. The highlight of the delay was the conductor’s announcement that we should use caution when transferring to our backup train, as if you touch both trains at the same time, you will have a mild electric shock applied. Nice!
  • I’m off to Austin for SXSW Interactive next week. This has sort of snuck up on me, but after a couple years of considering it, I’m super excited to finally get a chance to go.
  • And finally, I’ll bore you with a quick study on water towers I shot last weekend. Sepia tone can make just about anything look good. Click through for a couple more.

Your first update in four months, and it’s this?

Snap.com is anoying.Does anyone else find all of those little snap.com windows that open when you mouse over a link annoying? They seem to be showing up on more and more sites these days. TechCrunch allows you to avoid the pop-up by only revealing it when mousing over a small icon after each link, which helps, but still, it’s driving me nuts.

Also, here is a picture of me taking my first bath in about 10 years. That’s all.

another little update

I’ve been doing a lot of things in the last few months. Here are four of them:

I stayed at a (an?) 100 year old farmhouse.
the barn, from the porch

I took a picture from the roof of my new apartment.
tribute in light

I hung out with Bill and two thousand of his closest friends.

And I hung out with my grand parents.
