On life changing events

I’ve resigned from the Library. I’ve taken a new job with a systems integrator, which will eventually land me in New York City, where I’ve wanted to be for some time now. I’ll be in Boston until the end of April, then outside of Philadelphia for a couple weeks of training, and then in Colorado until the end of the year. If all goes as planned, I should be back on the east coast next January.

I can’t tell you how excited (and nervous!) I am. It has been hard for the last couple of weeks (months?) not really mentioning this to anyone while all the details were being sorted through - but now that I’ve officially resigned, it feels good to be able to talk about it a little more openly.

This is too good an opportunity to pass up, and it’s doing something that I know I will really enjoy. It’s also a good opportunity to think about what I’ve done since graduation, now almost three years ago, and think about where I’ll be in the next few years…
