On wondering if anybody still reads this

So it’s been a bit of a dry spell here on yovanoff.com. Here’s my list of excuses (there are probably more, but I can’t remember back that far):
Last weekend (two weeks ago?) was a trip down to the NNJ/NYC area(that’s Northern New Jersey for those not in the know) for a number of things, including but not limited to:
- Seeing The Gates. My first and continuing impression being that they (it?) are incredibly, logistically impressive. Managing to bring that project from concept to fruition could not have been easy. Regarding the gates as a piece of art, I’m still on the fence. It just doesn’t do much for me. At the bear minimum though, it got a lot of people into the park and interacting with each-other, which is neat-o.
- Also making an appearance for the weekend were Chris and Allison, of University of Delaware fame. We ate sushi, made fun of each other, and had a great time. That a year had passed since we had all been together wasn’t even noticed.
- I’m currently lying in a large bed in a big house in a small suburb of Chicago. Two of my aunts, a couple cousins, and a grandparent or two are all doing some serious moving and re-arranging this weekend, so I decided at the last minute that it would be a good thing to come out and lend a hand. Thanks to ATA, a mediocre airline with not too absurd last minute flight costs, I have hung pictures, drilled holes, set up wireless networks, moved (gigantic) furniture, and will soon be packing up a basement or two. Aside from all the work, it’s also been great seeing my mom’s side of the family, which I haven’t seen in quite some time.
