Weekend wrap-up

Published on August 19, 2003

It’s Monday, and I have returned to mighty Boston for another exciting week of work. The weekend was most excellent. A few notes, in list form, as usual.

  • The rental car had XM satellite radio - I was fairly un-impressed. While the technology is nifty, the channel selection is not. 100 channels is not a lot when divided by every music genre possible, and then further split into channels with titles like “BoneYard,” “The 50’s”, and “Nascar.”

  • Got to hang with Liz, and also with Allison at the beach. Manasquan was quite lovely. Despite being kicked off the beach (temporarily) due to lightning, we managed to stick it out and have a good time.

  • The drive back entailed 200 miles of some of the hardest rain I’ve ever driven through. While making the ride slow, it was kind of exciting.

And that’s about it. This week sees me doing a number of exciting work related items, including but not limited to: replacing 500 dollar lightbulbs, moving a 2,000 pound piano, and rationalizing databases. What are you doing this week?
