While I have an official

While I have an official title where I work, I do not have an official job description. I consider this a good thing as it keeps me doing lots of different things all day long. When the first time you look at a clock for the day it’s already 5pm, you know it’s been a busy day. And for me, about 75% of my days are like that. The hours are long, but the work is interesting and the pay is good. Today, we started with a company wide meeting where our CEO did JFK impressions. Moved on to systems implementation meetings which was interrupted by exhibit maintenance.

Exhibit maintenance and trouble shooting is fun because sometimes it takes 5 minutes to run down and correct a problem, and other times it can take 8 hours of scampering about the building looking for people and resources. Today was one of those long days that you don’t feel too accomplished, because you have done 50% of a million items, not finishing any one of them, but making progress on all of them.

I just got back to my desk for the first time since this morning, have a hundred emails and ten voice mails, but it’s all okay, because someone left a pecan pie on my desk and it’s going to snow tomorrow!
